Common scents we typically use in our soaps include peppermint, lavender, and bergamot. But lately we have tried some new and exotic essential oils as well. As always, we only use naturally processed essential oils as scents in our bars, never chemical fragrances.
Although we strive for essential oils scents that remind us of the pacific northwest, like cedarwood, peppermint, lavender, and rosemary, we also like more exotic oils as well for a change of pace. Clove and bergamot, patchouli, and sandalwood, as well as lemongrass invoke exotic and intriguing charms as well.
We are always open to ideas and receptive to suggestions too!
With each scent, endless variations in hopefully harmonious combinations allow for further creative journeys too. One of my personal favorites is rosemary and lemongrass. It spreads peace and serenity and feels like lying in a hammock on a warm summer’s day next to a garden full of blooms and butterflies. Perhaps a bumblebee or two, but with zero intention of stinging anything.
Sometimes we also try out unusual ingredients as well. We have made a turmeric soap as well as a green algae soup, both a quest for discovering new colors, adding healthful properties for skin care, and maybe even adding a touch of scent as well.
